A healthy jet pump runs smooth. If you feel a vibration or rhythmic shake through the hull — especially when you open the throttle — something inside the pump is out of balance.
The most common culprit is a bent or nicked impeller blade. Even a small piece of debris can deform a blade. Once one blade is heavier or shaped differently from the others, the entire assembly vibrates at speed.
