Collection: Wear Rings

A worn wear ring is the most common reason a jet ski revs normally but won't reach top speed. As the ring wears, clearance opens up between it and the impeller, water slips back through the pump instead of being pushed out the nozzle, and you lose thrust while RPM climbs.

We stock replacement wear rings for Sea-Doo 720–1503 and 1630 4-TEC, Sea-Doo 900 Spark, Yamaha 650–800, 700–1200, 1800 and 1050/1900, and Kawasaki. Standard polymer rings from WSM cover most OEM replacements. SOLAS stainless steel rings hold clearance longer and are worth the upgrade on any ski ridden in sandy or shallow water, where abrasion can finish a standard ring in a season or two.

Check clearance any time the pump is off. Most manufacturers spec somewhere between 0.5mm and 1.5mm between impeller and ring — past that, you are losing measurable top speed. Replacing a wear ring is one of the cheapest performance recoveries on a PWC and is well within reach of a home mechanic once the pump is out.
