Jet Pump Nose Cones

The nose cone sits at the front of the jet pump and houses the forward bearing that supports the impeller shaft. It also shapes water flow into the impeller, so damage here costs you efficiency as well as bearing life.

A failing nose cone bearing announces itself. You will hear a growl or whine from the back of the ski that changes pitch with engine RPM, and it usually gets worse under load. Ignore it and the bearing eventually seizes, which can take the shaft and impeller with it.

We stock nose cones for Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki PWC. If you are replacing one because the bearing failed, inspect the impeller shaft for scoring at the same time — a spun bearing rarely leaves the shaft untouched.
