Drive Shafts

The driveshaft carries engine torque back to the pump. It is a simple part that fails in predictable ways: spline wear at either end, corrosion pitting along the shaft where it rides in the carbon seal, and bending from an impact or from running badly misaligned.

A pitted or scored shaft will destroy carbon seals repeatedly. If you are on your second or third seal in short order, pull the shaft and inspect the sealing surface before installing another one — a rough shaft chews a new seal in hours.

We stock driveshafts for Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki personal watercraft. Grease the splines on installation with the lubricant specified for your model, and confirm motor mount condition first — a new shaft in a misaligned driveline will not stay straight for long.
