Collection: Intake Grates
The intake grate is the first thing between open water and your pump, and it does two jobs: keep debris out, and keep water attached to the intake when the hull unloads.
We stock grates for Sea-Doo 900 Spark, 1503 GTI/GTR/GTS and GTX/RXT, Yamaha 1800 FZR/FZS, FX HO/SHO and VXR/VXS, Yamaha 1050/1100/1800, and Kawasaki 1500 Ultra 300/310.
Replace a grate when it is bent, cracked, or missing bars. A damaged grate lets rocks and shells reach the impeller, and it disturbs water flow into the pump even when it looks close to straight. Riders in weedy or sandy water, and anyone running rough chop or hard turns, benefit most from a proper aftermarket grate — better bite and less of the ventilation that causes RPM spikes mid-corner.
If your ski overheats in shallow or grassy water, start here. A partially blocked grate starves the cooling pickup well before it affects thrust.
