Collection: Couplers
The coupler joins the engine output to the driveshaft. On most PWC it includes a rubber damper element that absorbs shock loads and takes up small amounts of misalignment, protecting both the crankshaft and the pump from driveline shock.
When a coupler wears, you get vibration and a clunk on throttle transitions — most noticeable going from neutral to forward or backing off hard. Left alone, a failing coupler transmits shock straight into the crankshaft, which turns a modest parts bill into an engine job.
We stock couplers for Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki PWC. Inspect the rubber element for cracking and check for rotational play between the halves. Always verify motor mount condition when replacing one — couplers usually wear out early because something upstream is out of alignment.
